Not receiving emails can be frustrating, especially when everything seems to be set up correctly. In most cases, this issue is temporary and related to how the internet handles DNS changes. Let’s break it down in simple terms.
When you make any DNS-related change—such as updating MX records or switching email delivery services—the change does not apply instantly across the internet.
DNS information is cached by:
Email service providers
ISPs (Internet Service Providers)
Firewalls and mail gateways
Because of this caching mechanism, different servers across the world may still be using old DNS records for some time.
During this propagation period:
Some senders may still route emails using old DNS data
Emails may be delayed or temporarily fail to reach your TMail
Certain senders might experience delivery issues while others work fine
This behavior is completely normal and not a fault in the TMail Delivery system.
DNS propagation time varies depending on the sender’s infrastructure:
Typical resolution: A few hours
In some cases: Up to 24–48 hours
Rare scenarios: A couple of days, depending on cache refresh cycles on the sender’s end
Once the cached DNS records are refreshed, email delivery resumes automatically.
While waiting for DNS propagation to complete:
✅ Allow some time for global DNS updates
✅ Avoid making repeated DNS changes, as this resets propagation time
✅ Confirm that DNS records are correctly configured
No additional action is usually required.
Email delivery issues right after DNS changes are expected behavior across the internet, not a system error. TMail Delivery works as intended once DNS propagation is complete.
If emails are still not arriving after 48 hours, it’s recommended to recheck DNS configuration or contact support with specific sender details for further investigation.
